Shun Small-Minded People

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

If you’re starting your own home business, you’re a big man or woman from a personality standpoint. Don’t allow small-minded people to get in your way. Do what you want to do, when you want to. Shut your ears to idle envy and ignorant remarks.
Why do I recommend action instead of hours and hours of patient explaining, justifying, and filling-in of those near and dear to you? Because actions produce results. And results can be ten thousand times more convincing than all the arguments you could ever dream up. So don’t waste time talking—get to work and start earning!
As soon as you start earning you’ll see a strange change in your critics. Instead of truculently disagreeing with everything you say, their arguments will be milder. If you follow the tips in this book your income will soon increase, possibly to the level where you’re earning more in a few hours at home than other people are in a week in an office.
At this point your critics may stop talking altogether, and start
listening to you! They may even agree with you—once in awhile.
As your income increases, your critics become your warm Mends
—at least that’s the way they’d like to have it. Soon they’re asking you to spend money on them, or lend them money for “brilliant” business ideas they have.
Take my advice—I know what I’m talking about. Follow this
rule:
Keep your money to yourself. Spend some on your loved ones, even if they’ve been your worst critics. But, as a general guide, spend less than you earn and keep control of your money.
